In the book Brady v.s Manning, Gary Myers describes the friendship and rivalry between the two greatest quarterbacks that this world has ever seen. To my surprise, Brady and Manning are both great friends, every summer they try to play golf together, have a double date, and my favorite thing, they always are reaching out to each when the other gets hurt they reach out to each other, for instance when Peyton was hurt with his almost career ending neck surgery, Brady would keep in touch with him almost weekly to see how he was doing. These are definitely top 5 quarterbacks ever and maybe even the two best. Most people would probably think these two are just rivals but they have friendship that will last for the rest of their respectful lives.
The book Mia Hamm : Go For The Goal is great because it tells the story of one of the best female soccer players who ever lived. She was also the youngest person to be on the national team. In this chapter that I am currently reading, Mia is at the semi-finals of the FIFA Women's World Cup. Her team, USWNT, is one of the best pro women's teams in the world. Her friends are also her opponents in the pro league. Most of her teammates play on different teams for cities around the United States.
As the book progressed, there was some fascinating stories. My favorite was about the first modern Olympics. There is this college student who is going into the competition tiered and out of shape. Read the book to find out what happens next! Another story is about a famous racecar driver that "Finishes backwards and upside-down"(58). A story that is inspiring is about a boy who can't see five feet ahead him and becomes one of the best players in UNC history. This book has continued to impress thought so far. CB
Now that I am much farther into "How they Choked" by Georgia Bragg I can say that i have been blown away with how amazing and tragic some historic people's lives were! Each chapter is better than the previous one! This book takes you on a roller coaster ride that you will never want to get off of. All of the history books give you the impression that famous people can never make a mistake, but this book proves that wrong. -WA
The book Lacrosse "Fundamentals for Winning" is very informational on plays and drills. When I was at least fifty pages in this book I realized that this book would be geared to lacrosse coaches. It was all about how to operate plays and coach a team. I would recommend this book to coaches or players that would have a interest in learning about all kinds of lacrosse plays. This book also has pictures that demonstrate how to do what you're reading about. When you get deeper into this book you will find more chapters about how to play lacrosse and the equipment you will need. Overall, I would give this book three stars. BP
How They Croaked, by Georgia Bragg is a fun book that any kid would love. Featuring the deaths of Mozart, Einstein, Beethoven, James A. Garfield, and more. Did you know that James A. Garfield was our twentieth president? Read the book and find out how he died! -E.O.
