In my book Lacrosse the national game of the Iroquois by Diane Hoyt-Goldsmith, it talks about the history of the sport of lacrosse and why it is important to Native Americans. Lacrosse is important to Native Americans because it is almost their religion. The reason they have so much skill is they have their stick in their hand constantly. One fascinating piece to this book was how a man named Alf Jacques to this day makes wooden stick. Alf and his father started a buisness making lacrosse sticks for others, one year they made 11000 lacrosse stick, that's a lot of trees! Also, in this book they talk about the two types of lacrosse box and field. Personally, I think box can be more fun sometimes even though I play much more field, I think this because the ball is constantly flying around where as in field you need to really work to get the ball and secure full possession. This book is very detailed and interesting because it gives amazing stories and facts about an awesome sport and gives great new knoledge about the history of the best game of all time.
