A fisher cat or, Martes pennanti found in are found all over New England. They make a high pitch scream and I recommend looking it up. They do this while eating their meal. They are carnivores which means the only eat meat. The only way 9-13 pounds- CB
This is a picture of a Moose. It's scientific name is Alces alces. Not very many mooses have been living in Massachusetts lately. In fact there was an absence of moose in the 1700s. This moose has a cool brown color on it's body. Im guessing it is to camouflage itself in the wods from predators. It has two very intimidating antlers on the top of its head too, made for fending off attackers and maybe to fight other mooses. - DS
As you can see this is the snapping turtle or the, Chelydra serpentina This snapping turtle is a baby you can tell because of its size, it is really small in comparison to an adult. I also observed that most to all adult snapping turtles are covered in algae and dirt while young ones look pristine. Its shell is very important and has rough bumps and ridges that protect it from other predators. These guys are dangerous and it would be best to stay away they can chomp right through fish, snakes, frogs and so many other things!
-WA Tonight I saw a moon that was a waxing crescent. There are eight phases in all and this one looks slim and is on the right side of the moon. Although the moon isn't actually changing shape, it appears that it is because there is a shadow covering part of it in most of the phases. Rarely you can make out the part of the moon that is covered by the shadow. Tonight I could, except the quality of the picture is poor so you probably won't. It also looks like a third quarter phase but it is not. -E.O.
Over early early fall i saw multiple red tail hawks "buteo jamaicensis" on the golf course. These creatures must live in big trees because I once saw one fly out of a tree and seemed to be looking for food. I think they called this a red tailed hawk because you can see at the tips that there tail is a reddish blond. Finally, i noticed there wings are symmetrical to there other wing in this picture which was taken by http://www.ndow.org/. TCK

This is a white tailed deer or Odocoileus virginianus found in Canada down to South America. The males or bucks grow antlers in the summer to fight for territory. The lose them every winter. They are herbivores which means they only eat plants. CB
This is an ant, or phylum anthropoda. I found this ant on a leaf outside my house. It has a cool all black coating around it´s body. It looked like it was in search of food, wandering around the leaf. - DS
The Japanese Maple or Genus Acer palmutum is getting ready for winter. This tree is changing colors due to the lack of sunlight. The tree leaves will change color then fall off because of the lack f sunlight. The tree will then grow its leafs back in the spring when the day row longer, and there is more sunlight. BP
